Sprint updates 'iPhone for Life' plan to include iPhone 6, 6 Plus

Good news if you're one of the many Apple customers who upgrade to the new iPhone every year, if you're a Sprint customer that is. The carrier has announced it is expanding its 'iPhone for Life' plan to include the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus starting November 14th, allowing customers to basically lease the device for 12 months, starting at $80 per month.

It shouldn't take much math to figure out that when those 12 months are up, Apple should be releasing the 2015 model iPhone. This makes it easy and convenient for customers to trade in their iPhone for the latest model. You're not required to upgrade mind you, as you also have the choice of continuing to use the same device at the same monthly price, paying the remaining cost of the phone to own it, or even just returning it and abandoning the plan.

Sprint says this plan undercuts the plans and upgrading fees from Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. The base of the 'iPhone for Life' plan consists of the $50/month for unlimited talk/data, and from there the rest of the monthly fee is determined by your choice of iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, and which storage capacity. So, the total starting price for a 16GB iPhone 6 would be $80/month, while a 16GB iPhone 6 Plus starts at $85/month.

The initial 'iPhone for Life' plan, first announced last month, will still be available as well, offering the iPhone 5S starting at $70/month, however on a 24-month agreement. For those upgrade their iPhone annually, but don't like paying a large up-front payment, this could be a very appealing offer.
