New Kanye West album hits Tidal for exclusive streaming

In case you haven't heard (possibly because you've been without internet, while living on Mars, under a rock), hip-hop megastar Kanye West has just released a new album, dubbed The Life of Pablo. When not engaging in fights on Twitter, West has been sharing tentative titles and track details for several weeks on the social network. Now it's finally here, and if you want start streaming it, you need to be subscribed to the Tidal music service.

The rapper known as Yeezy gave the world its first listen of The Life of Pablo earlier this weekend during a fashion show at Madison Square Garden, and he revealed that it was now available for streaming exclusively on Tidal during his appearance on Saturday Night Live last night.

For fans who just want to flat-out own the new 18-track album, West is also selling a digital copy for $20 on his Tidal artist page. If you're not a Tidal subscriber but still want to stream The Life of Pablo, you'll just have to sit tight and wait another week, as that's when it will see a wider release on more music services.

For Tidal itself, West's new album is easily the biggest exclusive they've scored thus far, and it comes right after similar major releases, like Rihanna's album ANTI and the new Beyoncé single "Formation," all within the last two weeks. If the service keeps being the first to debut big music releases, it just might see some rapid growth in user numbers.
