iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR names confirmed in Apple sitemap code

Today is the big Apple event where new iPhones, updated iPad Pro, and a revamped Apple Watch are expected. The event is only a few hours away and Apple is getting ready to add the new products to its website, so fans can reach for their wallets. Part of the preparations for the launch of the new products today was to get the sitemap ready for the devices.

Geeks are pouring over the code of the Apple website looking for any indication of what might be coming, and an indication was found. In the code of the Apple sitemap, the names for the new iPhone models were found. It appears that the cheaper LCD iPhone will be called the iPhone XR.

The smaller OLED device will carry the iPhone XS moniker while the larger OLED device is the iPhone XS Max. The sitemap shows links to several cases for these new devices with silicone and leather options in multiple colors. The sitemaps have been taken down and are no longer available.

Before that takedown happened, Allthings.how was able to capture the screenshots of the code seen here. SlashGear will be on hand for the Apple event and covering it in detail. Stay tuned for more information today as the new products are announced.

Plenty of new rumors have popped ahead of launch about the iPhone expected at the event. A leak yesterday showed alleged SIM trays for the Apple devices in interesting colors. A hands-on also turned up of the iPhone XS ahead of launch. Another sitemap leak also confirmed that the updated Apple Watch will come in both 40mm and 44mm sizes.
