iCloud nightmare not yet over, new batch of photos leak

Despite Apple's best efforts, it seems that the media circus surrounding its iCloud storage and backup service isn't going away any time soon. Especially not if the compromising photos keep on coming, which is what tabloid TMZ claims just happened to Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, and, yes, Jennifer Lawrence again.Coming from TMZ, please do take the news with a grain of salt and perhaps some amount of imagination. Just to fill in the blanks, mind you. The said photos were naturally posted on 4chan and Reddit and were naturally promptly removed, given those two sites' new crusade against such things. TMZ hasn't given any technical details of the source of these photos, and of course we can't expect them to. Needless to say, the finger is being pointed again at iCloud, today's seemingly favorite scapegoat.

Either these photos were just part of an earlier stash only now revealed or they are a fresh new batch pilfered off iCloud. The latter, of course, would go against everything Apple has claimed and done of late, including adding enforcing two-step authentication as well as app-specific passwords. Then again, Apple has also claimed that there was no massive attack on the security and integrity of iCloud and this was all a concerted and directed effort to hack into specific celebrity accounts. Needless to say also, the media fallout pushed Apple to act quickly in plugging up whatever holes remain.

Hopefully, these are indeed just vestiges of this month's fiasco, though now we do wonder how much of those photos are of Jennifer Lawrence. Hopefully, too, we would finally see an end to this drama, or comedy if you prefer, but since Kim Kardashian is now involved, we definitely haven't heard the end of it yet.
