Yamaha has become quite the manufacturer of surround sound speaker bars. Their latest is no different with 1080p HDMI port and upscaling.

It will upscale to 1080i or 720p. Other features include XM’s Neural Surround compatibility, optional iPod dock, and tons of various calibration modes.

The calibration modes can do several things including make compressed audio sound better. The device offers up 120W of power through 6 channels. Since Yamaha isn’t to keen on releasing the frequency range numbers one should be prepared for a system that doesn’t really rattle the floor but more or less just enhances and surrounds you with better sound that your TV puts out. The YSP-4000 will be available in October for $1800.
