So, Xbox Live users have likely had problems ranging from account recovery and matchmaking all the way to just signing in. They are acknowledging the problem and have said that they are working on it, but they have yet to admit what the problem was.

The belief is that it was probably all the new Xbox 360 owners cluttering up the intertubes. I can’t wait until I am reading about Comcast deciding to throttle online game play traffic, which one ought to be epic.

Anyways, Major Nelson has assured everybody that they are working on it and things should already be better than they were a few days ago. So, if you were having issues and had previously given up all hope, try again, you’ll probably get on.
