Akimbo had a firesale for $99 dollars for their box before they closed. Deja vu here.

This is a HOLIDAY SALE. The 299.00 price is still on the web site. When some BD players dropped 100.00 on the black friday holiday sale was that a firesale when Apple dropped the price of the iPhone was that a firsale. When HD DVD dropped the price of their players to 99.00 was that a firesale..oops yeah it was. My point is in economic times such as these the only way to stimulate growth is to cut price and make up the difference in post purchase sales. In this case movie rentals. Netflix is aggresive with their free updates on various products and their own 99.00 box. This is plain competition. If Vudu wants to survive they need to be in as many homes as possible and the only way to do so these days is to make the box affordable.

Seems mr. pierce likes to make the rounds. You seem to know a lot about Akimbo- bet you haven’t even spent time with a Vudu box? I love mine and everyone I show it to buys one. Let’s see BD players are now well under $200. They must be extinct. You need to come up with a more logical comparison!
