The VEX RCR Mini is actually a platform for robotics to enhance education among science, technology, engineering, and math. The two robots pictured are just what some people came up with.
It looks like K’Nex on crack or something like that, regardless, they can be controlled via WiFi which would allow you to control large fleets of these things from one location. The platform is primarily being targeted at the educational system, but they are also for the enthusiast/hobbyist in you.
The software runs on Mac, Linux, or Windows. The initial robotics kits, sans the WiFi control system, will be available this August for $100, the WiFi control system will come later this year.
