The Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus have arrived for sale at Verizon Wireless’ online store, and as expected they run to $149.99 for the Pre Plus and $99.99 for the Pixi Plus thanks to a $100 online discount. Both webOS smartphones pack a few feature upgrades over their Sprint predecessors, with the Pixi Plus adding WiFi and the Pre Plus – as we discovered in our review last week – getting an improved keyboard, more memory and a MiFi-style 3G sharing app.
However the buy-one-get-one-free offer tempting would-be owners with a free Pixi Plus if they pick up one of the new Palm smartphones doesn’t appear to have fully materialized. The scheme is seemingly valid for the Pixi Plus, but Pre Plus buyers can choose “up to three select phones free”; unfortunately those select phones don’t include the Pixi Plus, only the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 and the LG VX5500. We’ll keep an eye on the page to see if that changes.
Update: As expected, Verizon have tweaked the offer so that now both handsets are part of the “buy one, get a free Pixi Plus offer”.
