uberFAMILY rides to include nabi 2 educational tablet for kids

Uber has announced a new partnership with Fuhu that will bring the maker's nabi 2 educational tablet to its uberFAMILY rides. This gives kids something to do during a ride that doesn't involve playing with the power windows or kicking the back of the seat, and has that educational twist to put this under utilized spat of downtime to good use. The feature is only coming to Washington DC, however, and the ridesharing service doesn't go into many details at this point.

We've previously detailed some of Fuhu's nabi tablets for kids. This one in particular has an educational slant with an obvious purpose, and it is designed for use by younger kids (those typically considered to young to have their own smartphone, more or less).

The tablets are only for uberFAMILY rides, but there's no further details at this point about when the tablets will be rolling out (it appears they've already rolled out, however). There's also no information about whether Uber is planning to expand this to other regions or if it'll be a permanent part of the uberFAMILY rides in DC.

This follows the ridesharing service's revelation yesterday that it'll be producing a magazine for drivers called Momentum Magazine, the first of which was released yesterday for anyone to download. Be sure to check out the timeline below for additional Uber news!
