Triby connected speaker, with Alexa inside, coming this Spring

Amazon might have its own virtual smart assistant but Alexa, as she is more personally known, can be found in one and only one device, the Amazon Echo. Well, soon not anymore. At CES 2016, we're once again seeing Invoxia's Triby connected speaker fridge magnet and, as we've seen, or rather heard, months ago, Alexa is still inside, ready to take your order. This makes Triby the first third party device to integrate Amazon's assistant, expanding Alexa's reach by just a wee bit and perhaps signaling the start of a new breed of Alexa-empowered devices.

Compared to the likes of Siri and Google Now or even Cortana, Alexa might not be one of the top choices as far as digital assistants go, but it does have the trump card when it comes to things like retail or digital content, both part of Amazon's empire. Which is perfect for Triby's purpose.

Triby is a smart speaker that latches on to your fridge door like a hi-tech refrigerator magnet. You can even leave messages on it for other family members to see. Triby connects to the Internet and to your smartphone, allowing you to make hands-free calls as well as stream music via Spotify Connect. Being situated in the kitchen allows you to easily tell Triby to buy milk, or at least remind you to, which is, of course, easier with Alexa around.

Triby is set to go into retail this spring. Price is still $199.
