And they have chosen to become custom enclosure manufacturers. The sub box pictured below is in fact painted to look just like a brick block with a question mark block from Super Mario Brothers. It would be an interesting explanation for why your trunk is rattling.

I do not know if it is car or home audio subwoofer, although since it was made by some guy’s friend, I am going to assume car audio. Basically though the guy had his friends make him a box and install the sub and then he took it home and painted it by himself.

The paint job looks pretty accurately 8-bit. Too bad such boxes aren’t available for purchase from anywhere anytime soon.
