Samsung teases mystery device called “The Overachiever”

Samsung has quietly launched a teaser page for a mysterious device that it's calling "The Overachiever." Not too many clues have been provided, but the device appears to be a wireless USB modem, possibly for 4G HSPA+ or LTE connectivity while on the road. The page simply reads "Meet The Overachiever" and provides a registration button with the message, "Take the first step on the road to greatness." Very cryptic indeed. Read The Full Story

LTE Rolls Out in Canada for the First Time Ever

Not that there's going to be another time that LTE will be rolling out in Canada, but it's never been there before! The folks at Rogers have released word that Canada's first Long Term Evolution will be coming from then, and folks in Ottawa will be the first to see the speed. T-Mobile doubles 4G network speed in three cities and offers new devices

T-Mobile has announced today at CTIA that is has doubled the speed of its 4G network in three major cities in the US allowing users of the network to enjoy faster access. The new data speed is 42Mbps download and will be offered only in Las Vegas, New York, and Orlando as of now. The next area to get the new 4G speed will be Chicago and then T-Mobile will expand the New York area 4G networks down to Long Island, NY. Read The Full Story

T-Mobile Jet 2.0 4G USB modem to launch March 23

If you are in the market for a new modem to support 4G networks T-Mobile has a new offering coming this month. The modem is called the Jet 2.0 and it will land at stores on March 23. The device will be able to hit theoretical peak download speeds of 21Mbps on the HSPA+ network. Read The Full Story

LG VL600 LTE USB Modem Landing This Sunday for $99

The information regarding Verizon's 4G LTE roll-out are still slipping through the pipe, and now it's LG's turn to come forward and officially announce their 4G USB modem. The company is happy to announce that they'll be the single modem at launch, bringing the LG VL600 LTE USB modem to Verizon's stores, as well as Verizon's website, beginning Sunday, December 5th. Verizon Ad Leaks Look at Pantech and LG LTE Modems

If you'll remember back on October 6th of this year, Verizon sent out a press release noting their plans for hitting the smartphone market in the face with a big push for LTE (Long Term Evolution) - a standard in mobile network technology that's very similar (though not the same!) as true IMT Advanced 4G. AT&T USBConnect modems refreshed: HSPA+ and pre-pay options

AT&T has outed its latest range of USB modems, and while the carrier doesn't actually have an active HSPA+ network at the moment, two out of the three new models will support the high-speed connectivity when service goes live in early 2011.  The AT&T USBConnect Shockwave and USBConnect Adrenaline each offer HSPA+, while the AT&T USBConnect 900 lacks the higher-speed support but will be sold contract-free. Novatel Wireless has announced the launch of a new USB modem that is claimed to be the smallest dual carrier HSPA+ USB device on the market.
