Nokia, ZTE and Huawei face InterDigital 3G patent lawsuit

The ebb and flow of the patent battles in the tech world never cease to amuse me. They are never ending for many firms. Nokia is one of the tech firms that is always on the giving or receiving end of legal drama. Not too long ago Nokia beat Apple in court and Apple was forced to pay licensing fees to Nokia. Nokia is now on the other side of a legal dispute with a suit filed by InterDigital.

Welcome to this week's edition of the SlashGear Week in Review, let's get to it! The Vol Speaker concept turned up this week with a design that makes it look like a big volume knob. The concept has a rechargeable battery inside for portable listening. We learned that Android 3.2 fixes the screen incompatibility for apps that were previously handset only. The OS will get the ability to change from stretch to fill and zoom to fill the screen.

Tomita Technologies sues Nintendo over 3D tech in 3DS console

The number of patent suits that fly around the technology world is staggering. It seems like every day we hear of a new patent infringement suit being filed. The latest patent suit is against Nintendo and the plaintiff in the case is a company I have never heard of called Tomita Technologies. Tomita claims that Nintendo's 3DS is infringing on a patent it holds. The patent in question covers tech for viewing 3D with no glasses.

Ford sued by Eagle Harbor Holdings for patent infringement

Ford has a lot of cool tech inside some of its late model vehicles. The tech ranges from its Sync system that is powered by Microsoft and Nuance to tech for checking blind spots, stability control, and more. Ford has found itself embroiled in a lawsuit alleging patent infringement by a tech firm called Eagle Harbor Holdings. Eagle Harbor claims that it was in talks in 2002 with Ford to integrate tech using some of its patents into Ford vehicles.

Samsung has recently said it's not copying, but competing with Apple in that ongoing case. Publisher sues Apple over iBooks trademark

The busiest people in the Apple corporate structure have to be the legal team. These guys and gals are constantly fighting off suits and filing suits for one reason or another. The legal team at Apple only recently settled with Nokia for patent infringement and now another suit has been filed against the corporation. A publisher in New York filed a trademark infringement suit against Apple this week. The publisher is John T. Colby.

Class action suit filed against Apple for iPhone location tracking

I use an iPhone and I will be the first to say that the thought of my iPhone tracking my movements is irritating. There is really no need for my iPhone to be storing where I go throughout my day. I also have to wonder if this extra tracking that is unneeded was turned off if my iPhone would run longer on a charge. I guess with all the press of the iPhone tracking and storing user movements, it was inevitable that a class action suit would be filed against Apple.
