When it comes to Android device releases, nothing is more exciting than a Nexus smartphone or tablet, except when it comes to the Samsung line of Galaxy S devices of course - and today we've got what very well may be the next generation: the Samsung Galaxy S III in leaked press images and details. The story goes like this: Concept Phones, a blog that specializes in conceptual renderings of devices, has intercepted a couple of images and some details sent in from a fellow by the name of Ivan Ilchenko who reported them appearing on Samsung's "official" page on a Russian social network by the name of Vkontakte. If you've got all that, good, because here's the confusing part: the device may well be the first smartphone to be dual-booting Android and Bada OS right out of the box.

Apple has been accused for the second time of manipulating images presented as part of its patent infringement suit against Samsung, this time for resizing shots of the Galaxy S so that they more closely resemble the iPhone 3G. Samsung escapes Dutch injunction: Accuses Apple of design generalization

Samsung may not have had the opportunity to fight Apple's European preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1 - only finding out that Apple had filed after the ban on sales was applied - but the company has come out fighting in the Netherlands hearing today. Samsung demanded that the Dutch courts throw out the case as it was simply too complex for summary proceedings, Webwereld reports, pointing out that plenty of electronic devices are flat, rectangular and have rounded corners and large screens, and that - based on Apple's standards - every digital photo frame is in fact an iPad.

According to Korean News Site ETNews speaking with sources in the field, Samsung may be planning a 3D device not unlike what's been revealed by LG in the Optimus 3D and by HTC in the EVO 3D. Both comparative devices feature a glasses-free 3D display, two cameras on the back side of the device for 3D photography, and a dual-core processor to handle the graphics. The details on this new Samsung device are sparse, but it is said to be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the most advanced version of Android for handsets, for starters.

Samsung has announced that it has sold three million of its Galaxy S II smartphones in 55 days, setting a new record for the company and meaning a GSII was bought every 1.5 seconds. That's without official North American availability; the Galaxy S II - which has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and is the thinnest smartphone on the market at 8.49mm thick - is yet to go on sale in the US, though carrier versions have been well rumored.
