iPen teased in Apple patent

The folks at Apple have once again pushed out a patent for a device they've never before suggested they'd go through with, this time an "iPen" complete with haptic feedback and a speaker. This device has been discovered by Patently Apple will likely never see the light of day, but was indeed filed by inventors Aleksandar Pance and Omar Leung for Apple back in the fourth quarter of 2010 and was published by the US Patent and Trademark Office today. Here's a new toy concept that can help instill green values in your kids when it comes to using renewable energy. A toy designed by Endrit Hanjo, called the Quad, works like the Tamagotchi toys of yesteryears but it comes with a catch. Mercedes-Benz DICE interior concept hands-on

Attendees exploring CES 2012 earlier this month traveling through the automotive section of the convention would have had a difficult time not at least glimpsing the Mercedez-Benz DICE Interior Concept. In a giant mirrored box sat a completely cushiony set of seats with car dashboard and driving wheel as well as a front windshield, both the windshield and the dashboard proving themselves instantly to be more than meets the eye. This was the DICE, or Dynamic and Intuitive Control Experience, and it was with gestures that one controlled this futuristic dream technology.

HP radical brand redesign proposal revealed

HP's identity could certainly use a makeover and apparently the company has been actively looking into making some changes during the past few years. Moving Brands, a company specializing in branding, was hired back in 2008 to re-envision HP's image and has come up with something that was apparently too radical for HP's tastes. Compleat disposable coffee cup axes the lid, startup set to score big

Designer Peter Herman has created a concept for the all-paper disposable cup, made for coffee but perfectly viable for other liquids, that is set to blow the lid off of the industry - literally. Currently working for architectural firm Ellenzweig in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and having hacked away at this concept for over two years and a hundred prototypes now, Herman has it down to one single piece of paper. Working with graphic design firm Proverb's Daren Bascome to create the visuals you see printed on the cups here, Herman is prepping his concept for the big time now - speaking with manufacturers and retailers right this minute. Sony Echo stamps sound for later listening

The following concept design comes from a workshop held yearly by Sony, the product being here a hand-held device that records sounds, attaches them to symbols, and stamps them on objects for later scanning. That's what's about to happen with this ball camera, the Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera, that is, a project that's currently Patent Pending and has been in the works, apparently, since back in 2010.
