Mac Pro gets dual-hexacore Intel Xeon upgrade

It’s not just new iMacs that Apple have outed this morning; the company has also announced updates to its Mac Pro range with the much-anticipated quad- and hexacore Intel Xeon processors.  While the basic configurations include quad-core CPUs as standard, up to two 2.93GHz 6-core Intel Xeon X5670 processors can be specified, along with up to four 512GB SSDs, an ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1GB of memory, and up to 32GB of DDR3 memory.  Meanwhile there are now two Mini DisplayPort ports as standard.

iMac gets Core i3, i5 & i7 update, new Apple Magic Trackpad

As expected, Apple has updated its iMac line to include Intel’s Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors, and they’ve also outed their Magic Trackpad too.  As before there are 21.5- and 27-inch versions of the iMac, now kicking off from $1,199 with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3 processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory and ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics; $1,699 gets you a 27-inch 3.20 GHz Intel Core i3 machine with ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics.

iMac stock shortages continue ahead of tipped range refresh

Speculation of an imminent iMac refresh continues apace, with AppleInsider hearing that some Apple stores are reporting low or non-existent stock of both 21.5- and 27-inch versions of the all-in-one desktop.  The news follows recent leaks that tipped updated iMacs with USB 3.0, faster FireWire connectivity and even touchscreen functionality; a new entry-level machine with an Intel Core i3 CPU has been mentioned, together with dual-core Core i5 and quad-core Core i5/i7 models. Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d 3D notebook on sale now

Lenovo's 3D-capable notebook, the IdeaPad Y560d, has gone up for sale through the company's webstore.  Priced at $1,399 - $200 more than initially expected, and a month late in fact - the Y560d has a 15.6-inch 1,366 x 768 LCD display, Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz processor and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 1GB graphics, and uses the TriDef 3D system. Shuttle XPC Barebone SH55J2 SFF PC content with Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs

Shuttle's latest small-form-factor PC has been unveiled, and the XPC Barebone SH55J2 manages to offer compatibility with Intel's Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 CPU ranges.  The first machine to support all socket 1156 Core variants, the SH55J2 is compatible with the onboard GPU found in certain Core i3 and i5 processors, and has both HDMI and VGA outputs; alternatively a PCI Express socket can take a dual-slot discrete graphics card. LG W63D display, CF3D projector & R590 laptop all pack 3D support

It's obviously 3D day today, because no sooner do ASUS push out a 3D-capable LCD display but LG get into the game with a trio of 3D toting hardware.  Like ASUS they've a monitor, the Full HD LG W63D, but then there's also the Full HD projector which we saw back in January, the LG CF3D, and a notebook, the LG R590.
