Hitachi concept WOOO camcorder can stream HD video on TV wirelessly

Hitachi at CEDIA 2008 showcases a concept digital camcorder that is capable of streaming HD video to a TV display wirelessly. The prototype video camera captures video on its HDD in HD MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, and has an SDIO standard IEEE802.11g module to transmit live feed or captured video to TV via an access point.

Canon has announced three new camcorders in their high-definition VIXIA range, including both flash-based and HDD-based models.  The flash camcorder is the VIXIA HF11, which combines an internal 32GB solid-state drive with an SDHC slot for expansion.  The two hard-drive based models, however, are the VIXIA HG20 and VIXIA HG21, with 60GB and 120GB storage respectively, together with an SDHC slot.  All three camcorders have 24Mbps bit rate recording for enhanced detail, finer tonal gradation and improved reproduction of moving subjects.

Sanyo have taken the wraps off of a new Xacti camcorder, the HD800, and according to Akihabara News the spec sheet might not tell the whole story.  They're most impressed by "the HUGE step forward in video quality" compared to the HD700, together with the improved noise reduction.  Still recording in up to 720p high-definition, the HD800 can also grab 8-megapixel stills.
