Sources: iWatch not coming to stores until 2015

Though we expect to hear all about Apple's latest offerings September 9, speculation abounds as to when we'll get hold of them. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is expected soon after the product launch, again believed to be September 9, but what about the rest of the products Apple reportedly has lined up? According to a new report, it might be next year before you get hold of the iWatch.

Sources, speaking to Re/Code, say the iWatch isn't going to land for a few months. They go on to point out it's not expected before the holiday shopping rush, either. Best estimates? Sometime early next year, though it's not known when that might be.

If these sources are correct, that's a bit of a head scratcher. Even in limited quantities, Apple's iWatch would be a massive hit, and there would be no better time to capitalize than the holiday season. Of course, Apple wants the experience to be ideal, and if they've not secured the partnerships to make that happen, they simply won't release their watch, limited run or not.

As we've said time and again, announcements don't relate to releases. Apple might talk their wearable up come September 9, but when we actually get to slap it on our wrist remains a mystery.
