Hot on the heels of their flash-memory PMP announcement, Sony have also come out with the news that they’re planning a Video Walkman to compete with, you guessed it, Apple’s ever-so-successful video-capable iPod.
“We are developing a product that handles images, but I cannot make any comment on specific plans” Sony Senior Vice President Hiroshi Yoshioka

Also without any sort of evidence behind it was Yoshioka’s claim that he would double Sony’s 10% share of the lucrative portable media market. Without wishing to sound like Mister Negative from Negative Land, but Sony are really going to have to put their money where their corporate mouth-piece is if they want people to take this latest foray seriously.
