Sharp axe PC business in favor of Galapagos tablets

Sharp has announced it plans to cease its PC manufacturing arm, instead focusing on what the company has described as their "unique blend of hardware and content delivery" in the ereader business.  It's been a slow-burner in the PC industry anyway; most recent devices have been MIDs or tablets, such as the Galapagos ereader slates

The last more traditional design was the Sharp Mebius netbook series, most memorably the Mebius NJ70A with its LCD touchscreen trackpad.  The company will now focus on driving partnership deals for mobile content delivery.
