Dear Santa, all I want this Christmas is this new, shiny, black smartphone by Samsung called SGH-i600. I promise I’ll never write or utter another nasty word towards Microsoft Windows Mobile. Furthermore, I promise to never spread another rumor of any sort about Samsung fingers crossed behind my back.
The SGH-i600 features tri-band GSM 900/r1800/1900, EDGE, HSDPA, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel with one on the front for video calls, a 2.3-inch, 65k color, 320 x 240 TFT display, Microsoft’s Push Mail, and 128MB ROM / 64MB RAM with microSD expansion all powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone on a TI OMAP 1710 processor. It’s only a matter of time now before this mother of all smartphone hits the market, since the good folks at the FCC already approved it.

Hi Dianne, I don’t remember seeing any official announcement yet. We’re meeting with Samsung next week at CTIA Wireless in LA, so I’ll have more info then.
Quick update…we’ve been informed by Samsung officials to wait a little longer for formal announcements.
I’m unclear on who will be the carrier for this phone. Will it be Cingular and T-Mobile as some have suggested?

The i607 is out, with UMTS 850/1900. I want the i600 like the one above with UMTS 2100.
I am sick and tired of waiting for this charming lady called i600 . When will it be available at Hazyview - Mpumalanga (RSA)?
