Samsung I7500 gets video hands-on: amazing AMOLED

, Apr 28th 2009 Discuss [0]

Video of the Samsung I7500 Android phone has emerged, showing off just how impressive an AMOLED display can be.  The 11.9mm-thick smartphone is not set to arrive in Europe until June, but that hasn’t stopped one lucky tester from flaunting his own pre-production handset.

While the I7500 shows off all its external ports and controls – including that all-important 3.5mm headphone jack on the top panel, next to a discretely covered microUSB port – it’s the touchscreen display that really catches your attention.  As on other recent Samsung handsets, such as the Tocco S8300 Ultra, it’s richly saturated and vividly bright, and makes LCD panels look drab by comparison.

The Samsung I7500 has UMTS HSPA, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0, together with GPS and 8GB of internal storage.  There’s also a microSD slot, content with up to 32GB cards, and the usual suite of Google applications.  More details here.
