So PMA is coming up really soon, and that’s the big photography show, but some companies are opting to announce their new products just prior to the show. Well, Canon has just been added to that list.

The rumor is that Canon’s VP, Robert Westin, dropped some little nuggets of info on some Swedish site. The main two points are that Canon will be dropping something big on January 24th, which is the week before PMA.

The second point is that Canon intends to release more products next year than they did this year. So, chances are it will be something new for the Rebel line, whether it be a replacement for the XTi or for the XT, but it could also be a higher grade more professional-oriented model, who knows, but we’ll all see come January 24th.

  1. I certainly hope it’s not a 50D, though I don’t know why they’d release it so soon. Maybe it’s a 40D innards with a pro style body. I would definitely be interested in that since I’m dropping $1000 on a 40D in the upcoming 2 weeks.
