From a mockup to a mockery, here’s one of the more blatant gaming rip-offs we’ve seen in recent months.  Bearing an uncanny resemblance to the Sony PSP, this PXP-900 may borrow the styling but it doesn’t bother with the titles: instead, it plays retro gaming ROMs.

In fact that may be selling it short, as the PXP-900 can actually handle classic titles from the NES, Famicom, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Super Famicom and SEGA MegaDrive.  Onboard storage is 2GB, and it functions as a PMP too, playing up to 25fps 320 x 240 video in a variety of formats on its 4.3-inch display.

There’s also a TV out connector, integrated camera (of unspecified resolution) and FM radio.  You can even add to the storage with up to 4GB SD cards.  Not bad for $89.99 in a choice of black, white, red or blue.

Famicom is a japanese NES. Super Famicom is a japanese SNES. Sega Megadrive is the japanese name for the Sega Genesis.
