Rumors abound when it comes to the PSP Go! Now, we have another rumor on top of the original rumor. This one says that the rumored console will be getting a high-speed card format like the Memory Stick HG-Micro rather than internal memory.

While intended for use in cell phones, this format would make the devices 3x’s faster than the current PSP’s Memory Stick Duo cards. This is very interesting because it would mean the new PSP could be upgraded times infinity and would keep the device rather small.

Use of internal memory would also have made the device more expensive, so this might be a useful cost-cutting strategy. So, this begs the question if the rumors we heard earlier about 8GB and 16GB versions of the PSP Go! were a bunch of bull or if those figures merely referred to the card size. We’ll have to wait and see if any of this is true, but if it is, it’s likely we’ll hear about it next month at E3.
