Pokemon Go capture bonus to make it easier to catch rare Pokemon

The folks behind Pokemon Go have announced a new capture bonus that will help players increase their odds of catching rare Pokemon. All players are getting right now is a sneak peak at the new feature that will be coming later. The new feature has a catch bonus when you earn medals based on catching certain types of Pokemon such as Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.

The new bonuses will give players an improved chance of capturing Pokemon with a related type. The way the bonus works the higher tier for the a medal such as the Kindler Medal the bonus to catch Fire-type Pokemon like the Charmander, Vulpix, and Ponyta grows.

Trainers can work their way to a new tier of the medal by catching many Pokemon of the same type. For Pokemon with the multiple types the average bonus the bonus is an average of your bonuses for each type. An example given by the developer is Pidgey is both a Normal and a Flying type Pokemon. Therefore, your bonus would be the average of the Normal type and Flying-type bonuses.

There is no indication given of when this new feature will land, all the developer says is soon. If you thought the Pokemon Go fad was over, the game is still immensely profitable for the company. A few days back we mentioned that the game is still pulling in $2 million daily in gross revenue. Recent metrics estimate that Pokemon go is still being downloaded 700,000 times per day. Total downloads of the game are thought to be around $550 million and the game is believed to have generated as much as $470 million so far. There are still some major countries where the game hasn't launched including China and South Korea.
