Gerhard Richter decided to put together this pixilated piece of art as a gift. He said it was for the city of Cologne and the more than 1 million people that visit the cathedral each year.

It really is quite a work of art. Apparently the lines at the cathedral to see the new works of Mr. Richter have been quite long. I know a cathedral seems like an unlikely location for such a window, but it really does make the church less daunting.

So if you are ever in Cologne, Germany, stop by the cathedral and check it out.
