Does Cadillac have a chance against BMW? The US car company reckons it does, and the 2012 Cadillac ATS is the Bimmer-killer patriots have been waiting for. Unveiled this week, the ATS mixes rear-wheel-drive with the lowest curb weight in its class, with plenty of emphasis placed on road-handling and performance to compete with the Germanic titans.
One of the things I really like about car show season at the major shows around the world is that we get to see some cool concept cars. One of the cool green concepts that made its way around many major car shows from GM was called the Cadillac Converj concept. The concept was a luxury coupe that used extended range electric tech for motivation.

And it's all because of a new system called Cadillac WiFi that is based on an Autonet Mobile device. This device is completely portable and makes it so computers can access the Internet over a local connection.
In case you want a car with this gizmo built in, your first option will be the CTS Sports Sedan. However, you will be able to buy the WiFi device by itself, though it'll cost you $499 plus $29 a month for the service.
At the moment, Cadillac is one of only a few car companies looking to pursue Internet for in the car. However, there is some concern that within a few years this technology will be useless, once 3G and 4G cell phone networks and devices are more readily available, cheaper and more reliable. But for now, it's still pretty cool.
Japanese EV firm SIM-Drive has been producing prototype electric vehicles for a while and previously rolled out the SIM-LEI, SIM-WIL, and SIM-CEL. The company has now unveiled its fourth EV prototype called the SIM-HAL. Yes, the car is named after the murderous computer that refused to open the bay doors.
General Motors has recalled more than 1.5m more cars as its safety record comes under enhanced scrutiny, admitting that it expects fixing the faults - as well as the previously-announced ignition switch issue - to cost it around $300m to make right.
