Olympus TG-870 rugged camera is waterproof to 50-feet

Olympus has a new camera that will be right at home with outdoor enthusiasts who need a camera that can survive water, drops, and life in the great outdoors. The camera is called the TG-870 and it can survive diving in water up to 50-feet with no case needed to keep it safe. An accessory case is offered to protect the camera to 175-feet depth.

A wide-angle 21mm lens makes it easy to get groups in a shot and the camera has a 3.0-inch HVGA ultra bright screen on the back for aligning shots and looking at the images you snap. That LCD tilts 180-degrees to make it easy to align shots no matter how you need to stand.

Resolution is 16MP and the camera boasts a BSI-CMOS sensor. ISO range is from 125 to 6400 with auto and high modes. Image processing is handled by TruePic VII image processor. The camera is shockproof and can survive drops of up to 7-feet.

It's crushproof and can with stand crush force up to 220 pounds. TG-870 users can operate in temperatures down to 14F without issues. Other features include integrated WiFi to make sharing images easy and integrated GPS to tag your images with your location if desired. Optical zoom is 5x and the camera has lens shift image stabilization along with the ability to record HD video. The camera is available now for $279.99.
