Official Galaxy J7 photos leak showing gold and silver versions

There have been plenty of leaks that have told us what to expect with the 2016 version of the Galaxy J7 smartphone. Earlier this month the J5 and J7 passed through TENAA to get their Chinese certifications. This week a slew of new images have leaked that claim to be the official Samsung glamour shots of the J7 smartphone. The images highlight two colors for the metal frame with a silver version and a gold version.

The version of the smartphone seen in these images appears to be one made for China Mobile, but it has the same design and hardware as the version of the device that will be seen around the world. The J7 has a 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Under the hood is an octacore Exynos 7870 SoC.

The chip is mated with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot if offered for storage expansion and the smartphone has dual SIM card slots. WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth are all integrated into the device, as we expect of an Android smartphone today.

The rear camera is a 13MP device with a 5MP front camera. Both cameras support full HD video and have a single LED flash. Power will come from a 3300 mAh internal battery. Leaked benchmarks have indicated that the OS out of the box will be Android 6.0.1. The initial launch of the J7 is expected to happen in China to start and then head to Europe with the next country tipped as Germany. The device is expected to eventually launch in many other locations around the world.
