Oculus Rift Pre-Order date revealed

This morning Oculus revealed the timing and date for pre-orders of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. This is one of the last keys to the kingdom before the device itself is released, as all other details have already been revealed at one time or another. In similar news, the virtual reality physical handset controllers revealed last year have been pushed to a later date in 2016 for release, while the headset itself will come out this first quarter of 2016.

According to Oculus, pre-orders for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset will begin on January 6th at 8AM Pacific Time. Pricing has not yet been made available by the company.

Up close with Oculus Rift 2016

This is is less than two days away, and fits right in with CES 2016, the consumer electronics show, the biggest gathering of consumer-aimed electronics in the world, all year long. Oculus will be on-site at CES 2016 with what we can safely assume will be the longest lines for demos once again (as it was last year).

This Wednesday Oculus founder Palmer Luckey will also be doing a Reddit AMA at 6PM Pacific Time. There he'll likely talk more about the games that come with Oculus Rift right out of the box: Lucky's Tale (not related to this Luckey), and CCP's own EVE: Valkyrie.
