Photographers fond of Nikon gear may have a new lens option in the near future (by June, if the sources are correct): a refreshed Nikon AF-S 400mm f/2.8G ED VR lens, which will reportedly eclipse the current iteration in more than one way.
The information comes from the folks at Nikon Rumors, where they say a confirmation has come in about an upcoming lens refresh. What isn’t yet known is whether it’ll arrive with the expected launch of the Nikon 1 S2 camera later this week.
According to the source, photographers will be shelling out at least $500 more than the $8,999 USD price tag for the presently available model. No details are known beyond that, and no images of the lens have been released (the lens featured above is the current version).
As always, we’ll have all the details when (or, given the unconfirmed nature, if) it arrives. Until then, check out the Nikon tag portal for other Nikon news and reviews, or hit up the timeline below.
