Netflix has hit a home run with some of its original programming. One of the most popular original shows that Netflix offers is House of Cards. However, the first of the Netflix original shows was Lilyhammer. That show was announced in January of this year for the first time.
Season one of Lilyhammer debuted in February of 2013. Netflix has now announced that it will be debuting season two of Lilyhammer on December 13. The second season of the show will be available for streaming on that day in the Netherlands, UK, US, Ireland, Canada, and Latin America.
All eight season two episodes will be available at launch in those countries. Like the first season, the second will follow former mobster Frank “The Fixer” Tagliano played by former Sopranos star Steven Van Zandt. The show follows Tagliano as he enters witness protection in Lillehammer, Norway.
Season two picks up with the former mobster living in cold of Norway and running a nightclub. His former mob associates find out he is still alive and threaten his new life in witness protection.
“The second season of ‘Lilyhammer’ is an amped up ride that gives us Steven Van Zandt at his glorious, baddest, best,” said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix. “Whether you enjoyed season one or are catching it for the first time, ‘Lilyhammer’ is a mob show like no other.”
