Medion laptops - Free virus with every purchase

Don't you hate it when you set up you new PC only to get hit with a virus? It's happened to the best of us, and it sucks. What would suck even more is if the virus came pre-installed on the computer. Apparently some people that have purchased Medion laptops (not to be confused with Medison) have had just that issue.

The virus in question is actually quite ancient as far as they go. The Stoned Angelina virus was first discovered over 13 years ago. It doesn't really do much more than attempt to infect other computers. It does have the chance to damage floppy disks, but does anyone actually still use those anymore?

Medion isn't exactly forthcoming about how the virus managed to sneak its way onto laptops shipped to Aldi stores (apparently only laptops from those stores are affected). They recommend that if you have one of the laptops to use the recovery CD to wipe the drive.
