Magic Leap's new game teaser is the stuff AR dreams are made of

Late last year, Google invested in a company called Magic Leap, which aimed to bring augmented reality to us on a broader scale. The promise was neat, and the tech sounds the part, so we've been quietly anticipating what Magic Leap might bring us. A video, posted today, shows how Magic Leap plans to implement augmented reality into our lives. Using the familiar medium of gaming, Magic Leap is showing off something they're working on. You can see the full video below, and trust us — you'll want to.

The game shows someone — held out to be an employee at Magic Leap, where you suddenly want to work — going about their normal routine, except in full-on augmented reality. We're already jealous.

A virtual carousel pops up, and the employee selects gaming. From there, Magic Leap shows something else they've been working on. In the video's description, Magic Leap says "unfortunately, we couldn't make it to TED, but we wanted to share one of the things that we'd planned to share at the talk. This is a game we're playing around the office right now (no robots were harmed in the making of this video)."

After selecting a game called 'Victory', our office hero — who's code must be compiling as he's gaming — grabs a virtual gun and gets to blasting. Things go fine until a tank pops in for a visit.

If this is Magic Leap's vision for augmented reality, we're impressed. Check out the video to see why.
