MacBook Air display woes addressed with OS X 10.6.5

Those cool new MacBook Air notebook computers from Apple are having some issues with their fancy little displays that have been bothering users since the machines launched. Apple has been working on a fix for the problem and apparently that fix has come wrapped up inside the new update for Mac OS X that landed last week.

A new support document has been spied on the Apple site that points to Mac OS X 10.6.5 released last week and the update promises to fix the display issue for users. The specific issues that are fixed in the update are outlined as well.

Apple's support document describes the symptoms as "After waking from sleep, your MacBook Air display may flicker or fade from light to dark repeatedly." The fix is to download the 10.6.5 update and the issue is fixed. If you have a MacBook Air suffering from the screen problem and have applied this update, let us know if it fixed your problems.
