Just in time for the holiday season is one of Verizon’s most highly anticipated phones – the Voyager by LG. LG is looking to knock the iPhone out its top spot with the Voyager’s dual screen displays (large external touch-screen and slightly smaller screen when flipped open), 2.0 megapixel camera, VZ Navigator, a microSD memory slot which can support up to 8GB of additional memory and full QWERTY keypad.

LG Voyager

The Voyager is all about video and music. It offers V Cast Video, Verizon Wireless’ multimedia service with news, sports and entertainment video clips, 3D games, V Cast Music and V Cast Mobile TV.

We just got the Voyager in and I have to say it’s a sweet phone. But is an iPhone killer? You’ll have to check back for our full review. Enjoy the unboxing video and images.

LG Voyager

The Voyager will be available on November 21 for $299.99 after $50 rebate and with a two-year customer agreement.

I agree with emily you should definetly buy the voyager. I mean its the same basic thing as the iphone, but has a qwerty keyboard. I think that the mobile tv is good, but doesnt have all the channels that you like but it does have some stations with good tv shows at night like, heroes and house. But I think that the most important thing that seperates the voyager from the iphone is that the voyager has a removeable battery unlike the iphone which you have to bring it back to the store and then a new one which cost even more money. Also with the iphone you first have to pay $1000 dollars for the first time around and then you have to pay $60 dollars for the monthly fee. the monthly fee for the voyager with everything on it is $25 dollars, now I dont know about all of you guys but I would rather pay $25 dollars for the voyager then pay $60 dollars for the iphone. So you pretty much are paying for something that is $35 dollars less that is the same thing but has mobile tv and a qwerty keyboard. So I guess in this case less is more. LOL

Here is a real question of functionality and useability.

Battery life. The Q touts 8 days of standby time-
With the extended battery I cabn get 10 hours if lucky.

Does anyone have feedback on the reality of its battery life?

It’s 25 for the data service and txt messaging, but that 25 dollars is an add-on fee. So your playing 60 dollars a month for the phone itself and then 25 dollars extra for the features giving you a 85 dollar a month phone.

The iPhone doesn’t cost 1000 dollars it only costs 400. Which is 50 dollars more then the Voyager, but from what I’ve played with the iPhone is a much better then the Voyager. The Touch screen is better and the music and video features are better and to add-on to that it has iTunes on it’s back.

Don’t get me wrong my family uses Verizon so I lost my chance to get an iPhone so I decided to get a Voyager.

I have the phone, and use it a lot so I have to recharge it every day. Just like the I-phone its a battery killer when your on the web and watching the mobil tv.
The only way to watc youtube videos is by going to “www.m.youtube.com” this mobil version of youtube literaly only has a handful of videos, but they did say that they are working really hard to uplooad thier videos to ther mobil site.

Great review. Glad to hear folks are enjoying the LG Voyager. I only wish it wasn’t so much money. Though it seems to be like having a mini laptop. Sure would like to try it before buying one.

i don’t think the price of the phone will ever go done i had the LG6700 before getting the voyager and it’s still the same price to date …if you get the unlimitted texting its only $10 more to your plan and they have a plan now for $30 you get everything unlimited texting, picture texting, internet use and vz navigation the voyager is the best phone i have ever owned and i have had my share of phones the only thing i don’t like is that the phone does not multitask i would like to listen to music while playing a game but you can’t do that, thats the only down side

i have the voyager and all i have to say is that i love everything about it! they sell like a screen protecter that is clear and feels a little plastic so its durable and it sticks on to the touch screen like a sticker (dosent leave any marks if you take it off, i tried it) and protects it from anything. I own one and it is very use full. They also sell like a soft rubbery cover that goes on the phone itself and on top of that they sell a pouch to carry it in. im not sure about youtube, but the html browser is really good and very quick.

I sold my.iphome to buy a voyager and I am happy.

First of all. you can enjoy the absoltely same youtube experience on the Voyager as on the iphone at m youtube.com. All of the same videos available to iphone users can be viewed on the Voyager.

After a quick learning period, using the html browser on the Voyager is nearly as good as the iphone’s browsing experience. With the newer model which.includes the latest upgrade, you can scroll a page bve

  24.  Alan   View all comments by Alan  Neutral  Add karma Subtract karma Quote

..as I was saying, with latest voyager model (or upgarde forf older models), you can scroll web pages before they are finished loading similar to the iphone. Newest voyager models have a great zoom in/zoom out feature that is fast.

With the voyager on verizon, I get all my calls and they do not get dropped. 5 bars? The only bars att knows are the watering holes their execs frequent every night. With att I would flatline everytime I entered a building. In Wal Mart I would have no signal.

Verizon and the Lg Voyager rock. Iphome users, did you know that whem you broswe the web on edge you cannot receive phone calls? Iphone 3g will solve that but the Voyager already is 3g!
