iPad Air keyboards revealed by Belkin, a tad early

While we're expecting more than one update to the mobile Apple universe on Thursday of this week, Belkin appears to be preparing for the incoming wave. They've released information on two new iPad Air keyboards – "QODE Keyboards for iPad Air," they say – before the Apple event where it's expected that an iPad Air 2 (or just second-generation iPad Air) will be revealed. We'll just have to wait and see for Apple – but for now, these keyboards will work with the iPad Air model that's already on the market.

The first of two keyboards being shown off by Belkin this week is the QODE Slim Style. This goes by code F5L174 and features a folio-style cover and Bluetooth connectivity. You've got flexible corner tabs to hold the iPad Air in place, Bluetooth Smart connectivity (that's Bluetooth 4.0) for connectivity to all new devices, and an "improved keyboard layout" for what Belkin describes as "more accurate typing."

The QODE Ultimate Pro Keyboard for iPad Air (F5L171) domes with "aircraft-grade aluminum" in Silver and Space Gray. This keyboard works with up to one year of continuous use without replacing batteries, has rubber bumpers to prevent the keyboard from touching your iPad Air's screen, and the entire system is light and slim – similar to the Slim Style, but not quite the same.

The Ultimate Pro has smart-sensing auto off/on technology and works as a keyboard or a case. This keyboard also has the ability to work with your iPad Air in either landscape or portrait mode. Keys are backlit with three brightness levels as well.

While the Ultimate comes in Silver and Space Gray, the Slim comes in Blacktop/Gravel. Just so you're especially clear on which keyboard is more fancy.

The QODE Ultimate Pro will cost you $149.99 USD while the Slim will cost you a cool $99.99 USD. These keyboards will be available immediately wherever fine Belkin products are sold – have at em.
