HTC One Max global press event set for October 15

The next phablet from HTC will be the HTC One Max. A few days ago, we mentioned that the Global Certification Form had approved the device meaning launch was imminent. We didn't know at the time was a firm date for when the smartphone will be unveiled. That firm launch date has now been tipped.

A leak out of China claims HTC will hold a global press event for the One Max smartphone on October 15. There is indication that individual events for other countries will be conducted during the same week with the global unveil is happening.

Hong Kong will have its own press event for the smartphone on October 16 with an event for Taiwan on October 18. No specific press event is called out for the US or the UK. Rumored specifications for the device include a 5.9-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 featuring 373 ppi.

The smartphone is also tipped to have a fingerprint scanner on the back. There continues to be some confusion on which chipset the smartphone will run. Some rumors suggest processor will be a Snapdragon 800 while others suggest a Snapdragon 600. We should find out the hardware for sure on October 15 during the global press event.
