Loading ...Wow, now I’m very excited about HTC’s Athena! Though these photos don’t entirely tally with the spec sheet that was leaked the other day (doesn’t look like a transparent keyboard to me), everything else shapes up to a damn sexy Windows Mobile/UMPC crossover!

It’s a big shame that it’s running Windows Mobile. A device that size need to sport Windows XP Tablet Edition.
Were this to run XP Tablet PC Edition, it would need a whole lot more hardware and a much bigger battery. At that point, you’re talking about a paperweight, not a light weight device.
I still mourn the death of the Windows CE Handheld PC form factor. My old IBM Workpad z50 was an elegant solution for note taking, data entry and basic web surfing. I would gladly pay a premium for an updated device like that with a more modern browser, a full-size keyboard, instant-on, and an 8-10 hour battery life.
Reminds me of the old Psion 7 Series - a nice device. I’m not sure people will want a “Pocket” PC bigger than the HTC Wizard though, as this is stepping on UMPC toes…
Too bad we are stuck with 640×480 res… That’s why I am still waiting the Nokia 770 successor.
I dont know when the new MEDION is out, but it should rock.

i saw this last night on a market research, it is very heavy, bigger than i first thought and you can use it as a phone, its a bit big to put to your ear as a phone ! only has 8GB hard drive which if you think of putting your iTunes or movies on, isn’t alot. plus the only draw back on microsoft mobile is when using Excel you loose formulaes as excel on mobile doesn’t have full capabilities. nice gadget, although i would tend to use it as a mini laptop and still have my phone, can’t see me using it as aphone
Certainly looks nice — but why can’t it have a *proper* QWERTY keyboard, with the rows of keys staggered? Or does no one still remember proper touch-typing?

whoever daniel is i recons they were doing market research, if you looked on the medion website you wil find it has a 30gb hdd and 756mb RAM
