Far Cry 4 co-op includes PSN users without the game

Amongst the PS4 news rolling out right now at the Sony E3 press conference is good news for Far Cry fans — particularly those who enjoy it but don't necessarily plan on investing in the game. The co-op mode in Far Cry 4 will be opened up to PlayStation Network users who don't own the game but have a friend who does.

A group of gamer friends who own the PlayStation but don't want to each invest in Far Cry 4 will be able to get their cooperative gaming on without each shelling out for the game — assuming they're part of the PlayStation Network.

Far Cry 4 includes a feature called Guns for Hire, which is a co-op mode that allows a gamer's friends to join in and play alongside each other, with both enjoying the perks of the collective play in terms of the in-game cash and experience in general.

Expanding on that, however, will be something called Keys to Kyrat, which will be given to those playing on the PS3 or the PS4. With the Keys to Kyrat, a PSN user can be invited to join the open world despite not having their own game copy. This is exclusive to the PlayStation.
