Dell Mini 5 gets impromptu video demo by Michael Dell

When you run into Michael Dell, you understandably ask him what he's carrying in his pockets – after all, the Dell CEO is known for giving impromptu previews of upcoming devices – so it comes as little surprise that he whipped out the Dell Mini 5 MID for TechCrunch.  Rather worryingly, he also apparently confirmed its unsubsidized price: a whopping $1,098 pre-subsidy.

Of course, with a healthy carrier subsidy that could be brought down a notch or two – and it'll have to be, to be honest, if Dell actually want to find any buyers.  Hardware-wise, the Android 1.6 MID runs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and has 3G, WiFi and a 5-megapixel camera.  All Michael Dell would say is that it's going on sale "in a few months".
