The folks over at Engadget seem to think that the device they snapped a picture of here is the fabled Sony VAIO P, a super small netbook we took a look at late last month.  In case you don’t remember, Sony claimed that the P “fits in a pocket”.

It’s hard to tell from this shot, but there does seem to be something present in the middle of the keyboard.  If this is the VAIO P, that ’something’ is likely the mouse pointer.  The VAIO P will buck the netbook trend and go with a nub pointing device rather than a trackpad, which is welcome news for those who find navigating the trackpad on a smaller netbook somewhat uncomfortable.

We’ll hopefully get a better look at the VAIO P later this week during CES.  Until then, we hope this picture is enough to tide you over.
