For some reason Circuit City thinks that if they open a new chain of stores meant to give you what you expect from a regular Circuit City you might shop there more often. They even gave it a name that’s slightly more “hip”, they are dubbing it “The City”.
Its going up in Rochester Hills, Michigan for those curious, and they are looking for employees to fill all the same positions of a regular store. What are they adding?
They are adding “Interactive Experience Zones”, a “personalized shopping experience”, and technology to help you get the answers you seek. God forbid they just hire more intelligible employees, no, lets hire the asshole that can pass our impossible personality test and has years of sales experience but has no idea what the p in 1080p stands for.

You offended hundreds of people because of a corporate decision! I’m very sorry you and other customers have had a bad experience while shopping at a Circuit City, but there are still associates that are very knowledgeable and care about customer service.

Only “hundreds”? Sebastian… For me this has absolutely nothing to do with customer service. It has to do with a complete LACK of associates. I and everyone else I have ever spoken to (and this includes friends, family, coworkers, vendors, clients, and the clients of clients the state of today’s customer service is discussed with at trade shows) have the damndest time finding any CC employees either on the floor or are able to assist us. THAT’S why we don’t bother to visit our local CCs. Heck, we’d LOVE to find ANY associates, whether they know anything or not! And I live in CCs back yard where you think things would be better.

Just so you know I do work at a new “The City” store in Dover, DE. And because of the new setup it means that the guest should always have a partner (associate) checking on them. Multiple times. Im sorry that you have had bad experiences in the regular Circuit City but give “The City” a chance it is cool and a better atmosphere. Come check us out and I’ll prove it to you!

So I understand your frustrations with The City store vs Circuit City. As a employee of the City store and former Employee of a Circuit City store I asure you there is a huge differance. We pride ourselfs on Excelant Cusomer Service. Ya the New look is cool, the new toys are cool, the fact that the guests are the only reason we get a paycheck so we do everything in our power to get a guest exactly what they need cool. You think that its a cover nope it isnt I say this because one we would have the same district managers and corp. peeps. Entirely New crew of men and women who are dedicated to you as a guest. The enthusiasm from our corp. team wow! At Circuit City you were lucky if you ever got to meet a DM and if ya did ya you think he would remember your name Ha. The City Dist. Mgr Team will sit with you, teach you, and to boot they give out there personal phone numbers to any partner who asks. Second We would have brocures to hand out to every customer who walked thru the door. Nope we got the tablet PC. By the way used to train the partners in every aspect and department at the city, but also used to narrow down a product for your needs. Tired of a employee not telling you what the p stands for in 1080p well I bet they could tell you in less than a minute at a City Store and No more employee trained in just one field nope because of the tablet one person can sell you a tv the same person can sell you a car stereo. Finally I honestly believe it is some times its easier to hire new associates! You get to set new expectations by the way thats better for you! You dont get that employee who starts texting on his phone directly after he breazes by you and asks finding everything good and speeds to the corner to hang with his buddy. If you ever have a moment to come into a City store I sugest you do you will see. If you dont like it thats fine your entitled to you oppinion. I on the other hand am thankful for the city store and I truely believe its a blessing to have you as a guest.

Ha! Look at that. They are popping up everywhere. I just wish the Circuit City website would let you know which stores are The City stores. My husband just worked his tail off (along with everyone else that works there) opening the new store in La Habra, CA – there is another new one down the road a little in Brea, CA. There is no way to tell that they are any different (especially since the Brea store was an old one that was closed and remodeled with the new concept) without going there to find out.

NeutralIn less than a year the harlingen, tx 78550 store is closing down unfortunately along with 575 other circuit city stores across the nation.
