You probably recall James last report on the newer, smaller and cheaper Sony/Nichia laser few weeks ago. Well, the French has picked it up and announced their first entry in Blu-Ray market with SBR-1000 coming this April.

The Sigmatek SBR-1000 will support 720p/1080p(24/60) output via a HDMI v1.3 connection, it also says to decode Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD but no mention of BR profile or DTS-MA capability. It will be available around April at 250€ ($365 USD). Considering Europe electronic device is always more expensive than here, this one should be in the range of $175-$250 in US. For instance, the Sony BDP-S300 were selling at 499€ in Europe, same retail price here at $499 but in different currency value. But we know the street price has gone down well below $299 already.
