CES 2008: Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7 Noise-Canceling headphones

So, these things one an Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award, and for a good reason too, I tried them on to demo them, and without music playing, just on the noisy show floor, they dropped out almost all of the noise. There was enough noise coming through that I could here what I wanted to, but it was at a level that was easily ignorable and all the background noise was completely eliminated.

These headphones use the QuietPoint active noise-canceling technology to cancel out the sound. However, if you want to listen to music, there are a pair of 40mm drivers that are backed by neodymium magnets, so it should sound amazing.

The frequency response is 10 to 25000 Hz too, which is pretty amazing for some headphones. Here is the deal too, they require a battery, and they are a lot like the Bose headphones, but they are a lot better and a lot cheaper. These headphones will only cost you $199, and like I said, I liked these a lot better, the last Bose QuietComfort headphones I used had a constant ring when the noise canceling was on, these didn’t have they, the guy flipped the switch, and all of the sudden it was nearly completely silent.
