Canon EOS C100 Mark II arrives in December

Canon has introduced the second-generation EOS C100 Mark II, an updated camcorder bringing with it fresh features utilizing the latest technologies. The camcorder falls into the economical price range for its targeted market (budget film productions, documentaries, etc.) at $5,499 USD, and is set to drop toward the end of December, meaning you won't likely find it under many Christmas trees. Among its many features comes the promise of better handling and improved video quality.

Some design changes can be seen with the EOS C100 Mark II, including the addition of newly-designed hinged 3.5-inch 1.23-megapixel OLED display bringing with it complete FOV coverage and better visibility in bright light. The hinge design is different than the previous model, able to open 180 and 270-degrees. A joystick and function keys are visible when the display is opened.

There's the inclusion of a large eyecup, which can be removed, that works alongside the 1.23-megapixel electronic viewfinder. Dual Pixel CMOS auto focus now comes as a standard feature; there's face detection auto focus, as well. This is all joined by the camera's 8.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and a DIGIC DV4 image processor.

Other features include ISO ranging from 320 to 80,000, Full HD recording in AVCHD format and MP4 format (slow-motion for the latter format is available), dual SD card slots, integrated LUT, HDMI-out, WiFi, a related mobile app for remote control, and an optional GPS receiver for adding location data to content.
