ASUS U43JC and U43F Bambooo Notebooks Now Available at Best Buy

ASUS has a thing for bamboo-fused electronics. They've been doing this kind of thing for a few years now, dating all the way back to 2007, before some other models became available for pre-order courtesy of Amazon. And now, two new notebooks are currently available thanks to Best Buy. The two new models, the U43JC and U43F each boast a 14-inch display, and have the same aesthetically pleasing approach to adding bamboo to their framework as the other models in the past have.

The U43JC will cost you $999.99, and it's powered by Intel's Core i5 processor at 2.26GHz. There's 4GB of RAM tucked away inside as well. As for the hard drive, that hard-earned money will get you a whopping 640GB of storage. As for graphics, you'll be able to take advantage of NVIDIA's GeForce 310M graphics chipset. Other features include the standard ports, and included facial recognition software (so there's obviously a webcam, too). Best of all though, is the fact that Optimus graphics switching is also included with this model, which should help bolster that battery. Though, it isn't bad, as ASUS tags it at 5 hours and 10 minutes off of a full charge.

As for the U43F, it's basically the same model as the U43JC, but it loses a few key features. It does have integrated graphics, but not the same power as the higher-priced model. Other than that, though, it would seem that only the price really differentiates these two pieces of notebook tech. The U43F will cost you $950. As of right now, both models are labeled as back-ordered, but that won't stop you from ordering them, right? After all, they should be shipping to your doorstep by the end of the month.
