Apple TV on track for over 1m sales per quarter tips analyst

Looks like the Apple TV is on its way to being an unqualified success, with the streaming STB not only cheap for the Cupertino company to make, but selling in pretty huge numbers.  Barrons quotes JMP Research analyst Alex Gauna, who reckons Apple is on course to sell at least 1m Apple TV units per quarter.

That estimate is based on inventory checks in various US Apple stores, many of which have sold out of the compact mediaplayer.  Preorders began shipping in late September, but new online orders are still listed as not expected to ship for 1-2 weeks.
